45 years is a long time.

SECC has been supporting the community to flourish since 1978.

And this year, we’re celebrating with A Year of Stories!

We started off by sharing The History of SECC. Our long-time volunteer Catherine Schulte did some research on how we’ve evolved over the years.

Then we profiled our amazing Irene Trovato, who celebrated 20 years with SECC.

This month, we’re looking at volunteering at SECC, and the impact we’ve had with the help of incredible staff.

Our volunteer team is managed by Sue Ohanian, who started out as a SECC volunteer herself.

Soon after joining the team, we realised Sue’s past career in Human Resources would make her a valuable team member.

Nearly 10 years on, she supports our 50+ active volunteers at South Eastern Community Connect with professionalism, integrity and outstanding people skills.

Thanks to Sue, our volunteers feel supported and enjoy the rewards that volunteering has to offer.

Our volunteers make our world go around, and Sue gives them a true sense of belonging within SECC.

Thank you, Sue, for the terrific work you do.

As part of our Year of Stories in 2023, we’d like to acknowledge all you’ve achieved for SECC.
