SECC is thrilled to announce the launch of “Young at Heart”, a new Living and Ageing Well series at The Cottage Day Centre in Darling Point.

Living and Ageing Well is an arts-based program promoting socialisation, creative pursuits, active ageing, and emotional wellbeing for seniors 65+.

Drawing from the inspiration of Sydney Harbour and the Cottage’s unique location, this series of programs aims to inspire and educate participants to explore creative expressions to help keep their mind and body healthy and active. Studies have shown that taking part in creative pursuits has a positive impact on living and ageing well.

This creative activation, funded by a Woollahra Council Community and Cultural Grant, coincides with the expansion of available services at The Cottage Dementia Day Centre.

Our first of the curated programs, delivered at The Cottage, will feature renowned artist and TV personality Antony Makhlouf, star of Channel 7‘s Logie-nominated show “Get Arty“.

This will be the first of a series of five art and music-based workshops between 1st November and 4th December.

The series will give locals a chance to be inspired and develop a new skill set.
