We’re looking for a part-time Family Support Worker to assist with our children’s programs.
You will work under the direction of the Children and Families Coordinator to provide services to families and children in south-east Sydney.
You will take part in playgroup support and programming, parenting information sessions and parenting programs.
You will also assist with administrative and computer database management as well as support the SECC Team with other initiatives.

Key Accountabilities
• Provide direct and indirect care to children and families and children in the community. This may include welfare, social support and recreation and other duties as directed by The Children and Families Coordinator. • Work effectively with The Hub Manager, The Children and Families Coordinator and other members of the SECC team to develop, administer, deliver and evaluate a range of high quality fully integrated family and children services. • Provide feedback to The Hub Manager, The Children and Families Coordinator in relation to gaps in service provision and opportunities for extending services and programs to respond to changing needs. • Provide support and guidance for all families and children that promote holistic child development and family cohesion. • Attend Family Support Team Meetings and Advisory Committee meetings, supervision and performance reviews as required and directed. • Maintain client records and collect data as appropriate. • Engage with families and children with additional needs including people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and meet their diverse needs. • Effectively provide and maintain equipment, facilities and resources at all times.
General Duties and Responsibilities
• To ensure that administration tasks are completed as directed • Undertake other duties within the scope of this role as directed • Attend and participate in training and development activities • Uphold privacy and confidentiality in relation to service users • Comply with all workplace health and safety policies and procedures and cooperate with SECC in ensuring health and safety of self and others • To ensure all other SECC policy and procedures are implemented and contribute to reviewing these as required.
