We’re seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager to join our team at South Eastern Community Connect (SECC). As a key part of the leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing creative storytelling and events that amplify SECC’s work and help us create more opportunities for people who need vital community support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write engaging social media posts and adapt copy for each platform
  • Write and edit EDM campaigns, web copy and grant applications
  • Write media releases and promotional content for monthly activity calendars
  • Develop and implement the digital marketing and communications strategy across all programs and services
  • Execute or outsource localised ad campaigns to promote community events
  • Create and edit video content for all key digital platforms
  • Manage a team of two part-time staff members, including the Design Manager and Events Manager
  • Prepare design briefs and give direction to our Design Manager for the production of flyers, brochures and the SECC Annual Report
  • Support the Events Manager with direction in developing plans and building partnerships in the lead-up to key community events
  • Support the fundraising team to nurture donors, sponsors and stakeholders through effective communications
  • Support the team with developing and editing grant applications where needed
  • Edit materials for online LMS (learning management system) LearnDash
  • Compile and present survey data and write reports and presentations
  • Attend strategy meetings and contribute to peer-to-peer communication

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing or a related field
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communications strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and outside the box
  • Experience with digital marketing and communications tools such as Mailchimp, Canva and Meta Business Suite
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Passion for social impact and commitment to making a difference
