Spring has sprung, and it’s time to celebrate.
Say farewell to NSW’s long, cold winter, and hello to warmer, fresher days!
In this article, SECC gives you nine ways to enjoy the first days of spring in 2022.
1. Pack a picnic
Choose from one of South East Sydney’s wonderful locations for a picnic with a friend. Why not try Arthur Byrne Reserve in Maroubra or Glebe Foreshore Walk?
2. Prepare a spring salad
Why not try this Healthy Miso Coleslaw and awaken your spring senses?
4. Kick off your spring cleaning.
Get out the sponges and wipes, turn up the music, and wipe away the winter blues with a good old-fashioned cleaning sesh.
5. Volunteer with SECC
Ready to give back to your community in your spare time?

6. Plant some flowers
Welcome spring with a spot of gardening. You can start by planting a flower garden with seeds or pick up transplants at a garden centre such as Flower Power.
7. Watch the sunrise or sunset
Has it been too cold to head outside? Once the weather warms up, make a date with a pretty spot and enjoy watching the sun rise or set.
8. Take time to meditate
Kick off spring with a plan for your mindfulness or meditation schedule.
Commit to improving your mental health in the warmer months.
9. Book some fur-baby time
Got a furry friend who’d love more outdoor fun? Visit one of your local dog parks such as the fenced dog park in Sir Joseph Banks Park in Botany, and let them run while making new friends in the process.
